Trip Inspiration
Bhimashankar is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas thus it was long awaited trip to do with family members. I understood from reviews that post monsoon, the route becomes beautiful but the trip I took was in March.
Best Time To Visit
Throughout the year but after monsoon is the best

Route Information
Started from Pune at 8:30 am by taking the route through Pune to Nashik Phata to Rajgurunagar to Marchar to Bhimashankar.
Avoid taking left from Rajgurunagar despite it shows lesser kms and time because of bad roads in addition to steep uphill stretch on the way.
Sai Parivar family restaurant
Stop over for breakfast at 10:30am
Hotel Sai Parivar Family garden restaurant, just next to Rajgurunagar toll plaza.
This is good place for breakfast (poha, idli, missal and tea) with a small garden with kids play area and some ducks walking around. It has decent parking space and washrooms.
A Lake on the way
One of the steep uphill
This is where I saw a carrier vehicle couldn't make up the hill and gave up to go back.
Bhimashankar temple and its campus
We reached at 1:30pm. We did a quick stop over as Natraj restaurant just before Bhimashankar temple (around 5 kms before the temple parking spot). This is decent place to freshen up and have quick meals as well as lunch. Good food and prices are not on higher side.
We went on weekday and thus there was almost no rush. The darshan were done within 15 minutes. Due to limited crowd we were able to enjoy the approximately 300 steps to go down and climb up while coming back from the temple.
Dhimbe dam view point
This is a quick scenic stopover while downhill from Bhimashankar to Manchar for quick clicks and gaze.
Dhimbe river (immediately after down hill)
This is not marked spot but you can slow down while ending the down hill. If you can spot it then its a good opportunity to wet your legs in flowing river water (we were lucky enough). Stagnant water wont be clear and clean.
We were back to Pune by 8:30 pm.
Transportation
This whole day trip was done as road trip with my family in car.
