 Best Time To Visit

You can visit any season, All the temples are situated on the same hill, it is easy for everyone to reach but here in the summer season can be a very tiring moment for you. So the best time is from September to March..

Madhya Pradesh is called the heart of India , where nature has opened its love openly. It is home to a rich cultural heritage with innumerable monuments, exquisitely carved temples, stupas, forts  Whether it is about knowledge, science, art, beautiful forests and wandering wildlife or other religious places. 


So we are talking about the Jain pilgrimage Sonagiri (Datia), one of the main Jain pilgrimages of India. Legacy of Sonagiri Temple  History helps us when we need to know the importance of a region. 

It's said that "These temples belong to the middle of 9th to 10th century. There are a long series of Jain temples on the hill and 26 temples are in the village.  The 57th temple of the hill is the main temple with the original idol of Lord Chandraprabhu which is 17 feet high.

How To Reach

  Sonagiri is a village located on the road that connected Gwalior and Jhansi. You can also reach by any train between agra and jhansi.   Distance from different cities 15km from Datia 40km from jhansi  65 km from gwalior  "This beautiful place may not be in your travel list, but the beauty and peace here will make you come again. It is very beautiful and unique  in itself" 


Some Guidelines 

•This is a holy place, so please follow all the guidelines written in different places. 

•During the beginning you will have to leave your shoes, so be ready to go without shoes. 

•Photography is allowed but not inside temples 

•the temples are well numbered and directions are well written so you don't need to take guide. 

 • there is no shop inside so Carry your own water bottle.
